New Year's $2,006

Hopefully things will continue for me in poker like the first day of 2006. I was messing around at Full Tilt and noticed a $5 + .50 New Year’s $2,006 guaranteed tournament in the afternoon. I didn’t have anything planned so I registered to play.

I did really well and ended up finishing 7th out of 894 for a fairly good cash. I won’t go into posting the rollercoaster ride of hands but my last hand saw my AA cracked by 88. I was 3 out of 7 in chips and the biggest stack called my UTG all-in with 88 to knock me out after he hits his set on the flop and I fail to improve. oh well... I could smell the $1000 when he called me but the poker gods snatched it from my grasp.
