Alaska Dreamin'

As of this writing I am currently sitting at the wonderful Huntsvegas airport waiting to board a plane for a business trip to Alaska. I hate the fact that if you get to the airport 2 hours early like we have been told to do in order not to miss a flight you pop right in there and are sitting and waiting to board for an hour and 55 minutes. But show up about 45 minutes before the flight and there will be a line a mile long at the ticketing counter. Such is life...

Anyways... I hate leaving my family to go on trips. While I have only done it a handful of times since I was married in 2000 it never gets any easier. It is now even harder to leave the house when you have a little girl that understands daddy is leaving for a while. I also have a young son (2 months old) but he just knows me as someone that sticks a bottle in his mouth every now and then. I don't know what I would do without my wife, daughter, and son. I don't think I actually had a life before them and if I did it has been lost amongst the knowledge of finding out how warm/cool to make the bath water, what kind of diapers are the best, etc.

On a lighter note. The one good thing from my travel is that I hear the poker waters are extremely fishy in Alaska. I have been running a bit bad in my home games lately and need something to get me out of the doldrums. It just seems like every play I make is the wrong one even when I do get my money in correctly. I haven't been able to catch a cold over the last month or so. I am hoping that maybe this Alaska trip will treat me well. I have a large enough bankroll and the determination to change my ways from what they have recently been. Hopefully the scenery change and the Alaskan tundra will help fuel this metamorphosis.

Since I will be homesick from not being able to watch my little girl dancing to The Wiggles I should be able to post a bit more about my poker experiences while in the Alaskan countryside.
